Two Day Lower Limb Course Details:
This two day course has been specifically designed for Podiatrists. The course will cover the following topics:
- Trigger Point and Needle Theories Presentation
- Neuromyofascial Pain
- Trigger Point identification and clinical features
- Safety Presentation
- Assessment Presentation and Practical – Supervised
- Dry needling Presentations, Demonstration and Practical of the following regions:
- Posterior hip
- Anterior/medial thigh
- Lower extremity
- Relating assessment and treatment to common clinical presentations

Learning Outcomes:
1. At the completion of this course, participants should be able to define trigger points, motor banding and their clinical presentations leading to dysfunction.
2. At the completion of this course, participants should be able to safely apply Dry Needling techniques for orthopaedic and neuromuscular conditions of the lower limb.
3. At the completion of this course, participants should be able to define indications and contraindications for treatment.
4. At the completion of this course, participants should be able to identify specific treatment rationales for various diagnoses.
5. At the completion of this course, participants should be able to understand the research supporting the use of Dry Needling in clinical practice.
6. At the completion of this course, participants should have a general knowledge to apply dry needling techniques to common sporting injuries of the lower limb.
7. At the completion of the course participants should have a greater understanding of how our bodies/brains process pain, in both the acute and chronic settings.
8. At the completion of this course participants should have a greater understanding of how to accurately evaluate and treat common myofascial disorders of the lower extremity, including posterior hip/gluteal region.
